ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union baseball team lost, 6-5, in a back-and-forth battle against Washington and Jefferson in a non-conference home contest Sunday afternoon.

Zack Mazza (Flint, Mich. / Powers Catholic) in the first – Mazza's third homer of the year.
W&J (20-10) battled back and took a 5-3 lead after two runs in the fourth and three in the sixth. The Raiders tied the game with two runs in the seventh, however, Tyler Horvat of the Presidents stole home in the ninth which proved to be the game-winner.

Brady Hansen (Beaver, Pa. / Beaver Area) moved to 4-2 on the year after coming in for relief in the ninth, giving up one run off one hit and striking out one.
The Purple Raiders are back in action Wednesday, April 19 at John Carroll for a conference doubleheader, starting at 1 p.m.
