ALLIANCE, Ohio - The Mount Union men's soccer team scored a 1-0 shutout against nationally ranked No. 11 Calvin Saturday evening.
Mount Union (6-0) and Calvin (6-1) fought a defensive battle in the first half. Neither team was able to find the back of the net resulting in a scoreless first half.

Carter Hancock (Amherst / Marion L. Steele) to take the lead.
Sophomore goalkeeper, Jacob Weiland (Coraopolis, Pa. / Moon Area) recorded a shutout in his first career start.
The Raiders defense held Calvin to five shots and only one shot on goal.
The Purple Raiders return to Kehres Stadium Tuesday, September 19th at 7:00 pm in a home matchup against No. 22 Case Western University.
