GROVE CITY, Pa. – Mount Union's men's soccer team beat Grove City 2-0 in a nonconference match up on Saturday evening.
The Purple Raiders (2-0) struck first when freshman
Dom Kustura (Willowick / Eastlake North) found the back of the net to break the scoreless tie in the 46
th minute.
Mount Union would add to their lead in the 80
th minute when freshman
Alex Depperschmidt (Mansfield / Lexington) was able to find senior
Jamon McCort (Magnolia / Sandy Valley) to stretch the lead to 2-0.
The Wolverines (0-1-1) weren't able to answer as the Raiders would go on to win 2-0.
Freshman goalkeeper
Jackson Callender (Cleveland Heights / Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) recorded three saves in his second consecutive shutout victory.
The Raiders head to Steubenville next, when they take on Franciscan on Wednesday, September 6 at 7 p.m.
