ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's soccer team beat Franciscan 3-2 in a nonconference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
The Barons (1-3) would strike first when Angela Postage found the back of the net just under four minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead.
The Purple Raiders (2-1) would tie the game in the 66
th minute when freshman
Paige Klingensmith (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) was able to score, then in the 75
th minute sophomore
Lauran Bailey (St. Paris / Graham) found sophomore
Madeline Boulos (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Deer Lake) to give Mount Union a 2-1 lead.
Franciscan would answer though when Juliana Rubino tied the game at two with under a minute to play. Then, Klingensmith was able to find senior
Kaela Turle (Twinsburg) who found the back of the net with just 11 seconds left in the game to give the Raiders the 3-2 victory.
The Raiders are back on the road next when they travel to Washington, Pa. to take on Washington and Jefferson on Wednesday, September 13 at 6 p.m.
