WILMINGTON, Ohio—The Mount Union women's volleyball team picked up an Ohio Athletic Conference victory while dropping a non conference matchup Saturday afternoon at Herman Court.
The Purple Raiders (14-7, 2-1 OAC) swept Wilmington (4-14, 0-3) 25-16, 25-15, 25-13 to begin the day.
Heaven Bartell (Cleveland / St. Joseph Academy) led the way with 17 kills on just 26 attempts while
Alexis Meyer (Avon Lake) and
Sadie Thomas (Cambridge Springs, Pa. / Maplewood) had seven kills.
Casey Kildow (Bethesda / Union Local) picked up her 1,000
th career assist in the match totaling 14 while
Melissa Hansen (Hudson) picked up 13.
Katelyn Lesko (Mineral Ridge) and
Averi Haley (Orrville) led the way in digs with nine each.
Wilmington was led by Sarah Brown with eight kills, Andie Dolven with 13 assists and Logan McQuillin with 10 digs.
In the second game Mount Union dropped a five set thriller to Wittenberg (10-6, 1-1 NCAC) in sets of 19-25, 25-20, 25-20, 22-25, 14-16.
Bartell led the Raiders once again with 12 kills while Meyer finished with 10 kills.
Kildow had 19 assists with Hansen finishing with 14 and Haley with Bartell finished in double digits digs with 15 and 12.
Mount Union now returns home on Wednesday, October 16th to take on Muskingum at 7 PM.
