GENESEO, New York—Mount Union's women's cross country team finished 10th overall at the 43rd Annual Mike Woods Geneseo XC Invitational Saturday afternoon.
Graduate student Gianini Venuto (Newton Falls / Southeast) led the way for the Purple Raiders with a 16th place finish in a time of 22:17.1
Senior
Jasmine Arnold (Jewett / Harrison Central Catholic) had a strong showing finishing 32
nd with a time of 22:42.0. Freshman
Meghan Schwartz (Sugarcreek / Schwartz) finished 70
th overall and third on the team for Mount Union with a time of 23:23.7.
Rounding out the scoring was sophomore
Taylor Hennessey (Madison) and freshman
Taylor Forbes (Byesville / Meadowbrook) placing 92
nd and 110
th with times of 23:44.4 and 23:57.6.
Junior
Ashley Cooper (Mentor) and senior
Michaela Davis (Wadsworth) finished in the top seven for the Raiders with times of 24:01.5 and 24:10.5 in 116
th and 128
th.
Mount Union finished with 281 points just 19 behind Ohio Athletic Conference foe Ohio Northern in ninth place. Host SUNY Geneseo won the meet with 52 total points.
Mount Union now will now get ready for the Ohio Athletic Conference championships on November 2nd in Tiffin, Ohio.
