ADA, Ohio – Mount Union's men's soccer team won an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup 2-1 over no. 18 nationally ranked Ohio Northern on Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears (11-3-3, 5-1-1 OAC) would break the scoreless tie in the 55
th minute when Gage Foster scored on a penalty kick to take a 1-0 lead.
The Purple Raiders (12-4-1, 6-1 OAC) would net the equalizer in the 59
th minute when fifth-year
Emilio Spetic (Chardon / Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) found junior
Reese Utter (Dover) for the goal. Then, in the 87

Zander Plizga (Gibsonia, Pa. / Hampton) found fifth-year
Carter Hancock (Amherst / Marion L. Steele) for a goal to give Mount Union a late 2-1 lead.
Ohio Northern wouldn't be able to answer over the final minutes of the game as the Raiders would go on to win 2-1.
The Raiders return home next when they host OAC opponent Marietta on Wednesday, October 30 at 7 p.m. in Kehres Stadium.
