Women's Volleyball: Raiders Back to Winning Ways With Two Sweeps

ALLIANCE, Ohio—Mount Union's women's volleyball team swept Westminster (Pa.) and Carlow (Pa.) Saturday afternoon.
 
Mount Union (12-6, 0-1 OAC) took down Westminster (13-9) 25-10, 25-17 and 25-22 in the first game of the day.
 
Darby Leininger (Chardon / Beaumont) led the Purple Raiders with 13 kills while Heaven Bartell (Cleveland / St. Joseph Academy) had 19 digs and 11 kills.
 
Casey Kildow (Bethesda / Union Local) and Melissa Hansen (Hudson) finished with 24 and 20 assists.
 
Behind Bartell was Katelyn Lesko (Mineral Ridge) and Averi Haley (Orrville) with 13 and 12 digs.
 
Leading Westminster was Olivia Trent with nine kills, Angie Nardone with 14 assists and Trent with 15 digs.
 
In game two Mount Union defeated Carlow (5-10) 25-12, 25-14 and 15-18.
 
Alexis Meyer (Avon Lake) led the way with nine kills while Sadie Thomas (Cambridge Springs, Pa. /Maplewood) finished with eight kills.
 
Kildow finished with 25 assists while Bartell picked up 18 digs.
 
Ava Bolen (Wellsburg, W. Va. / Brooke) finished the day with five blocks and a service ace.
 
Carlow was led by Rebecca Hess with eight kills, Sarah Porter with 12 assists and Hess with nine digs.
 
Mount Union will return to Ohio Athletic Conference play on Wednesday heading up to University Heights taking on John Carroll at 7 PM.
