MARIETTA, Ohio—Mount Union's women's basketball lost its first game of the season 60-51 to Calvin on day two of the 38th Annual Jim Meagle Classic sponsored by BSN Sports hosted by Marietta College on Saturday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders (3-1) were led by All-Tournament selection in sophomore
Elizabeth Mason (Alliance / Marlington) with 11 points while senior
Ali Hudik (Mentor / Lake Catholic) scored 10 points.
Sophomore
Abby Muckleroy (Canfield) grabbed a team-high six rebounds while freshman
Lily Scott (Youngstown / Ursuline) finished with a game-high four steals.
Calvin (3-4) was led by Anna Fernadez with 24 points while Valerie Dirkse picked up a double-double with 10 points and 17 rebounds.
Mount Union won the turnover battle as they caused 26 Calvin turnovers to just 14 for the Raiders but Calvin outrebounded the Raiders 49-to-29.
Mount Union will return home to take on Case Western Reserve on Tuesday, November 26
th with a 7 PM tip off.
