CHICAGO, Illinois—The Mount Union men's volleyball team dropped a pair of matched to Illnois Tech and No. 10 North Central Saturday afternoon.
In the first match of the day Mount Union (5-7) fell in five sets, 17-25, 25-22, 19-25, 25-17 and 10-15 to Illinois Tech (4-9).
The Purple Raiders were led by
Jack McClure (Massillon / Massillon Jackson) with 20 kills,
Will Heeney (Hudson / Walsh Jesuit) with 38 assists and Peyton Kozelak (Eden, N.Y. / Eden) with a career-high 29 digs.
Tech was led by Jackson Van Engen and Paul Henderson with 13 kills, Elijah Johnson with 45 assists and Paul Henderson with 16 digs.
In the second match of the day Mount Union got swept, 25-12, 25-18 and 25-17, by No. 10 North Central (10-2).
McClure once again led Mount Union in kills with seven, Heeney had 10 assists and McClure with nine digs.
North Central was led by Jared Moser and Caelan Koth with nine kills, Will Padgett finished with 22 assists and Koth had eight digs.
Mount Union returns to the court at home on Wednesday, February 28th with a 7 PM start against Penn State Behrend.
