MEADVILLE, Pennsylvania—The Mount Union men's lacrosse team fell on the road 10-6 against Allegheny on Wednesday night.
The Purple Raiders (2-1) were led by
Liam Erwin (Victor, N.Y. / Victor Senior) with two goals while
Spencer Logsdon () with two assists and one goal.
Grant Dunmire (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Hampton),
Braylon Li (Richfield / Revere) and
Sly Sundown (Akron, N.Y. / Akron) each scored one goal for Mount Union.
Obrigh Tallchief (Angola, N.Y. / LakeShore) and
Logan North (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Canon-McMillan) each had seven ground balls while
Stephen Moschetta (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Trinity) stood in goal with nine saves.
Allegheny (1-1) was led by Nick Gralewski with three goals and Liam Kruck with six ground balls Gairn Stearns finished with 15 saves in goal.
Mount Union began the game with a goal from Erwin. Allegheny responded with a goal just over a minute later. Both teams went almost 10 minutes scoreless as Dunmire gave Mount Union a 2-1 lead after one quarter of play.
A goal from Sundown and Erwin put Mount Union up 4-1 in the second quarter. Allegheny would score two goals as Mount Union got a goal from Li to lead 5-3 at the halftime break.
Allegheny came out firing in the third quarter with four straight goals taking a 7-5 lead. Mount Union would get a goal to trail 7-6 into the final quarter. Over the final 15 minutes Allegheny would hold Mount Union scoreless while scoring five goals.
The Raiders will return home now to have their season opener on Saturday at 1 PM taking on Washington and Jefferson.
