GREENVILLE, Pennsylvania—The Mount Union men's volleyball team swept Thiel (Pa.), 25-21, 25-20 and 28-26 Wednesday night.
The Purple Raiders (3-3) were led by senior
Jack McClure (Massillon / Massillon Jackson) with 18 kills and junior
Jacob Nussdorfer (Lewis Center / Olentangy) with 10 kills.
Junior
Will Heeney (Hudson / Walsh Jesuit) finished with 37 assists while freshman
Peyton Koszelak (Eden, N.Y. / Eden) finished with 14 digs.
Thiel (2-6) was led by Kaleb Proudfoot with nine kills, Ben Lowell with 30 assists, seven digs and Cameron Long with seven digs.
SET ONE
Mount won set one on 14 kills with four hitting errors for a hitting percentage of .323 while Thiel finished with 11 kills and five errors with a hitting percentage of .200.
SET TWO
This set saw Mount Union dominate the hitting stats with 14 kills and six errors for a hitting percentage of .286 while only allowing six kills from Thiel and causing six hitting errors for a hitting percentage of .000.
SET THREE
The final set of the night Mount Union led in kills with 19 while having five errors for a hitting percentage of .341 while Thiel had 15 kills and four hitting errors for a .275 hitting percentage.
The Raiders return home with a match against Arcadia at 6 PM in Alliance.
