Baseball: Raiders Earn Florida Victory

AUBURNDALE, Fla. - The Mount Union baseball team won, 9-2, over Anna Maria on Saturday during its Florida Spring Break Trip.

Mount Union (5-2) was down 2-1 going into the bottom of the seventh inning until seniors Andrew Witte (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) and Jaired Lehman (Monroeville, Pa. / Gateway) connected on RBI-singles to go ahead 3-2. The Purple Raiders followed with a six-run eighth inning.

Junior Brady Hansen (Beaver, Pa. / Beaver Area) improved to 2-0 on the season after coming in for relief. Hansen pitched 3.1 innings and only gave up one run off two hits and struck out five. Junior Zachary Breeden (Cincinnati, Ohio / Cincinnati Elder) started the game and gave up only one run off four hits and struck out nine in five inning or work.

The Purple Raiders will continue their Florida trip on Monday, March 4 against St. John Fisher with a 10 a.m. start.
