ADA, Ohio – The NCAA Men's Wrestling Central Regional Championships wrapped up on Saturday and Mount Union senior
Jack Stanley (Broadview Heights, OH / Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) and junior
Bryce McCloskey (Greenville, PA / Reynolds) both qualified for the 2024 NCAA Championships. The Central Regionals were hosted by Ohio Northern.
Stanley advanced to the regional championship match at 125, after defeating Wabash's James Day in the semifinals and guaranteeing him at spot at the NCAA Championships. Stanley lost to Baldwin Wallace's Jacob Decatur, who is nationally ranked fifth. Stanley is making his third career trip to the NCAA Championships.
McCloskey at 197 battled back in the consolation bracket to place third, earning him his first career NCAA Championship berth.
Freshman
Steven Marra (Salem, Ohio / West Branch) finished eighth at 285.
The top-3 finishers in each weight class at regionals qualified for the NCAA Championships.
The two-day 2024 NCAA Division III Championships will take place on Friday, March 15 – Saturday, March 16 at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Go here for the NCAA Championship
