Women's Lacrosse: Raiders Sting Yellow Jackets; Katie Clark Earns 300th Career Point in Win

ALLIANCE, Ohio—The Mount Union women's lacrosse team defeated Baldwin Wallace 20-15 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup on Wednesday Evening.
 
Senior Katie Clark (Hudson / Walsh Jesuit) earned her 300th career point and is currently second all-time in career points in Mount Union History.
 
The Purple Raiders (8-3, 3-1 OAC) were led, by Clark and  Mackenzie Kolstad (Victor, N.Y. / Victor) who each scored six goals and had two assists.
 
Ella Nejad (Rocky River) was right behind the two with five goals. Eden Kesler (Chagrin Falls / Kenston) finished with two goals and one assist while Emily Funk (Strongsville) scored a goal.
 
Kolstad led the way on the draw with 10 draw controls while Abby Lindkvist (Greenlawn, N.Y. / Harborfield) picked up the victory with four saves while Abby Regan (Columbus / St. Francis De Sales) came in the second half to stop Baldwin Wallace's run and made seven saves.
 
Baldwin Wallace (8-6, 3-2 OAC) was led by Clare Alic with 3 goals and 2 assists while Caroline Potteiger made 12 saves.
 
FIRST QUARTER
Baldwin Wallace came out strong scoring the first two goals within three minutes of play. However, the Raiders responded scoring eight of the next nine goals with four goals from Clark, two from Kolstad, and a goal each for Nejad and Funk. Mount Union led 8-3 at the first break.
 
SECOND QUARTER
Baldwin Wallace outscored Mount Union 8-3 in the second quarter but Mount Union got a goal from Kolstad and then the final two goals of the quarter in the last 20 seconds from Kesler to take a 12-10 lead.
 
THIRD QUARTER
Baldwin Wallace started the quarter with a 2-1 run as Clark scored for Mount Union in-between them. Mount Union outscored Baldwin Wallace 3-2 over the final 4:26 as Kolstad got all three for the Raiders to lead 16-13.

FOURTH QUARTER
Mount Union was able to extend its lead in the fourth as Nejad scored four goals to Baldwin Wallace's one taking a 20-14 lead. Baldwin Wallace tried to respond getting two goals, but Mount Union was able to run the clock out and take the victory.

Mount Union will return to play in an OAC matchup on Wednesday, April 17th at 7 p.m. at Muskingum.
