DOVER, Ohio – Mount Union's men's golf team finished in third place after the final round at the Gatorade Collegiate at Zoar Village G.C. on Sunday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders finished with a team score of 592 (295-297) which was just two shots back of second place Mount Aloysius. Wooster won the event with a team score of 586 (289-297).
Sophomore
Brian Myers (Wadsworth) led the way for Mount Union, firing a 70 on day two to make his two round score 139 and earn medalist honors. Senior
Benjamin Zimmerman (Mount Pleasant, Pa. / Southmoreland) shot a 75 on day two to bring his total score to 148. With freshmen duo
Thomas Pesa (Youngstown / Ursuline) and
James Hoose (Mentor / Lake Catholic) rounding out the Raiders team score, shooting 153 (76-77) and 155 (77-78) respectively.
The Raiders are back in action on Friday, September 6 for the Mountain Valley Collegiate Classic at Sinking Valley C.C. in Altoona, Pa.
