RICHMOND, Va. – Mount Union's men's soccer team beat Hampden-Sydney 2-1 in a non-conference matchup on Sunday morning.
The Purple Raiders (4-2) struck first when senior
Carter Hancock (Amherst / Marion L. Steele) netted a goal in the 30
th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
The Tigers (2-3-1) would answer with a goal of their own in the 71
st minute, scoring off a goal by Pierce Boerner to tie the game at one. Mount Union would reclaim the lead in the 90

Adam Kalvitz (Avon) was able to find freshman
Amir Spratt (Kent / Kent Roosevelt) who found the back of the net to give the Raiders the 2-1 victory.
The Raiders return home next when they host Franciscan on Wednesday, September 18 at 7 p.m. in Kehres Stadium in Alliance.
