CLEVELAND, Ohio – Mount Union's men's soccer team tied Case Western Reserve 2-2 in a non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
The Spartans (5-2-2) struck first when Camden Larson found the back of the net in the seventh minute to take a 1-0 lead.
The Purple Raiders (6-3-1) would answer with a goal of their own about 10 minutes later when fifth year
Emilio Spetic (Chardon / Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) scored off an assist from junior
Reese Utter (Dover) to tie the game at a goal apiece.
Case Western would reclaim the lead in the 25
th minute this time scoring off the foot of Lukas Dalakis to take a 2-1 lead. However, Mount Union would answer once again when Septic scored his second goal of the game off a penalty kick in the 58
th minute to tie the game at two.
Neither team would be able to net a goal over the remainder of the game as they would go on to tie 2-2.
The Raiders open up Ohio Athletic Conference play next when they travel to Westerville to take on Otterbein on Saturday, October 5 at 7 p.m.
