ALTOONA, Pa. – Mount Union's men's golf team finished in sixth place after the first round of the Mountain Valley Collegiate Classic at Sinking Valley C.C. on Friday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders finished with a team score of 309 which is just three strokes behind third place Penn State Altoona, Westminster and Penn College. Heidelberg leads the event with a team score of 303.
Sophomore
Brian Myers (Wadsworth) led the way for Mount Union, shooting a 73 which also has him sitting in the top five individually. Freshman
Thomas Pesa (Youngstown / Ursuline) shot a 78, with freshman
James Hoose (Mentor / Lake Catholic) and senior
Owen Hinkle (Loudonville) both carding a 79 to round out the Raiders team score.
The Raiders are back in action again tomorrow for the second round of the Mountain Valley Collegiate Classic at Summit C.C. in Cresson, Pa.
