ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's men's soccer team defeated Muskingum 4-1 in Ohio Athletic Conference play on Wednesday evening.
The Purple Raiders (8-2-3, 1-1-1 OAC) would break the scoreless tie in the 51
st minute when sophomore
Amir Spratt (Kent / Kent Roosevelt) scored off an assist from junior
Alex Depperschmidt (Mansfield / Lexington) to take a 1-0 lead. Then, just over five minutes later junior
Dom Kustura (Willowick / Eastlake North) would score a pair of goals just a little over two minutes apart, scoring off assists from senior
Zander Plizga (Gibsonia, Pa. / Hampton) and Spratt to extend the lead to three goals.
The Fighting Muskies (7-7-0, 0-3-0 OAC) would cut into the lead in the 80
th minute when Jonathan Gonzales found the back of the net to cut the lead to two goals.
Mount Union would then stretch the lead back to three goals in the 83
rd minute when junior
Ayden Lee (Detroit, Mich. / Fraser) scored his first career goal, with Spratt picking up his second assist of the night.
Muskingum wouldn't have an answer after that as the Raiders would go on to win 4-1.
The Raiders head back on the road again next when they travel to Tiffin for an OAC tilt with Heidelberg on Saturday, October 18 at 6 p.m.
