NEW CONCORD, Ohio – Mount Union's women's soccer team defeated Muskingum 3-0 in Ohio Athletic Conference play on Wednesday evening.
The Purple Raiders (4-5-2, 1-2-0 OAC) struck first when senior
Madeline Boulos (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Deer Lake) found the back of the net in the 13
th minute to take 1-0 lead. Mount Union would add to their lead in the 21
st minute, this time scoring off a goal from sophomore
Rachel Washburn (Columbia Station / Columbia) to extend the lead to two goals.
The Raiders would add a third goal in the 71
st minute when sophomore
Rachel Chenos (Hilliard / Hilliard Bradley) found junior
Ella Dinwiddie (Medina / Wadsworth) for the goal.
The Fighting Muskies (2-11-0, 0-3-0 OAC) wouldn't have an answer over the final 14 minutes of action as Mount Union would go on to win 3-0.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Leanne Williams (Poland / Poland Seminary) recorded four saves en route to her sixth shutout of the season.
The Raiders are back home next when they host OAC foe Heidelberg on Saturday, October 18 at 1 p.m. in Kehres Stadium.
