ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's soccer team defeated Heidelberg 2-1 in Ohio Athletic Conference play on Saturday afternoon.
The Student Princes (4-7-3, 1-3-1 OAC) would strike first when Brianna Braatz was able to find the back of the net in the sixth minute to take a 1-0 lead.
The Purple Raiders (5-5-2, 1-2-0 OAC) would answer with the game tying goal in the 59
th minute when sophomore
Rachel Chenos (Hilliard / Hilliard Bradley) scored off assists from sophomore
Sian Blake (Avon) and junior
Ella Dinwiddie (Medina / Wadsworth). Chenos would then score her second goal of the game just over five minutes later to give Mount Union their first lead of the game, once again scoring on an assist from Blake.
Heidelberg wouldn't be able to answer over the remaining 26 minutes of action as the Raiders would go on to win 2-1.
The Raiders hit the road next when they travel to Berea for an OAC contest against Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday, October 22 at 7 p.m.
