ALLIANCE, Ohio—The Mount Union women's volleyball team took down No. 21 nationally ranked Marietta in four sets (25-20, 22-25, 25-23, 25-21) at home in an Ohio Athletic Conference Matchup Wednesday night.
Mount Union (10-16, 2-5 OAC) hands Marietta (15-6, 6-1 OAC) its first conference loss of the season tonight.
The Purple Raiders were led by junior
Sadie Thomas (Cambridge Springs, Pa. / Maplewood) and freshman Zoe Sweigert (Canal Winchester) with 15 kills each while junior
Molly McKee (North Ridgeville) finished with 10.
Sophomore
Anna Mihacevich (Hinkley / Padua Franciscan) and freshman Delani Durst (Clyde) led the team with 23 and 21 assists respectively.
Junior
Averi Haley (Orrville) led the team in digs with 24 followed by Thomas with 16 and sophomore
Sam Cantrell (Eastlake / Eastlake North) with Durst each had 12 digs.
Marietta was led by Jillian Fellers and Annabelle Hacker with 12 kills each, Keira Shannon contributed to 21 digs and Emory Spitler had 43 assists.
Mount Union will conclude its season by traveling to Bexley on Saturday to take on Capital at 1 pm.
