LOUISVILLE, Kentucky—The Mount Union men's cross country team took home second place in the Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic Silver race Saturday morning at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park.
Mount Union got to preview where the Great Lakes regional will be this fall and came away with the runner-up finish two points behind Otterbein.
Stephen Ulrich (Louisville) finished fifth overall and the second division III athlete with a time of 24:59.4.
Caleb Cabrera (Amherst / Steele) and
Jake Parkhurst (Medina) finished 17
th and 20
th overall with times of 25:31.5 and 25:35.9.
Cohen Boyce (Alliance / Marlington) and
Tyler Kohlmann (Huron) rounded out the team scoring placing 54
th and 71
st with times of 26:02.8 and 26:11.3.
Rounding out the top seven team scorers was
Liam Blake (Alliance / Marlington) and
Matt Tschantz (Canton / GlenOak) with times of 26:18.7 and 26:21.8 good for 85
th and 90
th.
Mount Union will turn its attention to Saturday, October 18th where the team will split up and compete at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble in Oberlin, Oh. or the Augustana Interregional Invitational in Rock Island, Ill.
