WAYNESBURG, Pennsylvania—The Mount Union women's basketball team took down Saint Vincent (Pa.) 77-61 on day two of the Waynesburg Classic Saturday afternoon.
Mount Union (6-1) was led by a career high 26 points from
Mckayla Dunkle (Cadiz / Harrison Central Catholic) along with nine rebounds.
Elizabeth Mason (Alliance / Marlington) also added double digits wtih18 points.
Saint Vincent (4-3) was led by Avina Norman with 16 points.
Mount Union led just by two after one quarter of play but had a strong second quarter outscoring St. Vincent 29-18 to take a 43-30 lead into halftime. From there Mount Union outscored St. Vincent by just three the rest of the way outscoring them 34-31 in the second half.
Mount Union returns home on Tuesday to take on Geneva (Pa.) at 7 pm before the Thanksgiving break.
