Women's Soccer: Raiders Host Ohio Northern in OAC Tournament Quarterfinal - GAME PREVIEW

No. 4 seed Mount Union will host No. 5 seed Ohio Northern in the Quarterfinals of the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Tournament on Tuesday, November 4 at 7 p.m. in Alliance.

The Purple Raiders (7-6-3, 4-3-1 OAC) are led offensively by junior Ella Dinwiddie (Medina / Wadsworth) and sophomore Rachel Chenos (Hilliard / Hilliard Bradley), who both lead the way with 14 points on the season with Dinwiddie recording six goals and two assists and Chenos adding five goals and four assists. The defense is anchored by sophomore goalkeeper Leanne Williams (Poland / Poland Seminary) and fellow sophomore Sian Blake (Avon), Williams has recorded nine shutouts on the season while posting a 0.88 goals-against average and a 0.845 save percentage.

The Polar Bears (6-8-3, 4-3-1 OAC) are led offensively by Ayva Moore who has three goals and three assists on the season, along with Karsten Bucci and Maddie Montgomery who added in two goals and an assist apiece. The defense is led by goalkeeper Morgan Moeller who has recorded seven shutouts on the season.

OAC Tournament History

Mount Union is making their 13th OAC Tournament appearance and have an overall record of 7-11-1, winning the tournament in 1996 and 2016.

Ohio Northern is making their 31st OAC Tournament appearance and have won the tournament six times in 2012, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2024.

The Raiders and Polar Bears have met three previous times in the tournament with Mount Union holding the 2-1 advantage.

The winner will advance to the OAC Tournament semifinal and will play either No. 1 seed Otterbein or No. 2 seed Capital based on the result of the other quarterfinal matchup as the highest remaining seed will head to Capital with the lowest remaining seed heading to Otterbein on Thursday, November 6 at either 4 or 7 p.m.
