ALLIANCE, Ohio – Three former Mount Union standout football players turned successful coaches made exciting coaching changes for the upcoming 2026 season.

Matt Campbell '02 was named the 17th Penn State Head Football Coach.

Jason Candle '03 was named the 33rd UConn Head Football Coach.

Vince Kehres '98 was named the Defensive Coordinator at Syracuse.

Campbell was part of five total NCAA Championships at Mount Union (three as a player and two as an assistant coach). Candle was also part of five of Mount Union's National Championships (two as a player and three as an assistant coach). Kehres was part of 12 of Mount Union's 13 total national championships as either a player (2) or coach (10)—including two as the head coach in 2015 and 2017.
