GAMBIER, Ohio – The Mount Union women's lacrosse team lost at Kenyon in its season-opener, 15-14, by a goal in the final minutes.
Mount Union led 6-4 after the first quarter, however, Kenyon outscored the Raiders 5-1 in the following frame and led 9-7 at halftime.
The Raiders continued to battle and took a 13-12 lead in the fourth from a goal by graduate
Eden Kesler (Chagrin Falls / Kenston). Kenyon regained the lead at 14-13 with 3:37 left. Junior
Ella Nejad (Rocky River / Rocky River) connected with graduate
Katie Clark (Hudson / Walsh Jesuit) for a goal with two minutes left to the tie the game at 14, however, Kenyon's Ashley Quinn netted the eventual game-winner with 1:47 remaining.

Mackenzie Kolstad (Victor, N.Y. / Victor Senior) for a team-high six points. Kolstad dished out a game-high five assists. Graduate
Katie Clark (Hudson / Walsh Jesuit) scored a team-high four goals, to go along with an assist.
Kesler registered game-bests in draw controls (9) and caused turnovers (2), while tying a game-high with four ground balls.

Abby Lindkvist (Greenlawn, N.Y. / Harborfields) had 14 saves in a complete-game effort.
The Raiders are next scheduled to host Denison in their home-opener on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 4 p.m.
