Women's Lacrosse: Raiders Dominate Otterbein for Senior Day Victory

ALLIANCE, Ohio—The Mount Union women's lacrosse team defeated Otterbein 26-2 Saturday afternoon in Ohio Athletic Conference play at Kehres Stadium.
 
Mount Union honored its six graduating senior before the game in Mackenzie Kolstad (Victor, N.Y. / Victor), Ella Sinopoli (Honeoye Falls, N.Y. / Honeoye Falls-Lima), Abby Lindkvist (Long Island, N.Y. / Haborfields), Emily Funk (Strongsville), Ashley Ray (Poland / Poland Seminary) and Kate Kueter (Iowa City, Iowa).
 
The Purple Raiders (8-4, 3-1) were powered by Kolstad with six goals and two assists. Eden Kesler (Chagrin Falls / Kenston) picked up four goals and four assists with Ella Nejad (Rocky River) scoring four goals.
 
Reese Fuenfstueck (Fairport, N.Y. / Fairport) picked up three goals, Funk along with Katie Clark (Hudson / Walsh Jesuit) picked up two goals while Liz Scumacher (Columbus / Upper Arlington), Mae Pawlikowski (Orchard Park, N.Y. / Orchard Park), Emma Labbe (Uniontown / Lake), Anna Weinel (Dayton / Chaminade-Julienne) and Ruby Robatin (Brecksville / Brecksville-Broadview Heights) each scored a goal.
 
Kolstad, Kesler and Sophie Graves () caused three turnovers, Nejad picked up six ground balls and Lindkvist was in goal making one save.
 
Otterbein (1-11, 0-3 OAC) was led by Emily Williams and Ava Robey with one goal each while Maggie Nance made 11 saves in goal.
 
Mount Union used a 6-0 first quarter and a 7-0 second quarter to take a 13-0 lead into the halftime break. Mount Union then outscored Otterbein 5-1 and 8-1 to take home the OAC victory.
 
Mount Union returns to play next Wednesday heading to Marietta with a 7 PM start time.
