The family of Mike Rogers, Mount Union College class of 1977, and the University of Mount Union will be holding the eighth annual memorial golf outing in his name to benefit fundraising efforts for support of the baseball team and continued improvements to the Rafeld-Rogers Field at 23rd Street, named after Mike and legendary coach Skip Rafeld in 2019.
This year's outing will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Tannenhauf Golf Club in Alliance. Registration begins at Noon. The 2025 event follows successful annual outings since 2018, all which have had at least 30 teams participate to support the University's baseball facility and to honor Mike's commitment of being a talented player, teammate, and family man.
We appreciate your consideration for any financial commitment required to support events like this, and have several ways that you can assist in making this a successful fundraiser:
Get a foursome. Spots for teams go quickly, so register soon to play by using the attached form or prepay using the link: https://secure.touchnet.net/C20349_ustores/web/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCTID=31&FROMQRCODE=true. We will be limited to 32 teams and hope to fill up as in past years. Costs for the outing will be $90 per person or $360 per team, which includes 18 holes plus a cart, drink tickets and dinner after the event.
Individual and corporate hole sponsorships are available with a tax-deductible donation of $100. As a sponsor, your individual name or company name and logo (if provided) will be displayed on the tee box of a hole of your choice, as well as a master donor sign at check-in. Please see the attached hole sponsor section of the form for more information. You can also use the link: https://giving.mountunion.edu/forms/MikeRogersSponsorshipForm.
Provide prizes and/or items for giveaways and a silent auction. In the first six outings, we have received amazing support from local businesses, Mike's friends and family, current baseball players, coaches, and alumni, who have provided prizes to about two-thirds of the players, as well as many quality auction items, such as gift baskets or golf accessories and equipment. If you are willing to donate items, please contact one of the committee members below.
The outing will also include a skins game, mulligans, a putting contest, hit the green for additional tickets for gift baskets, as well as prizes for longest and straightest drives in the fairway, closest to the pin and longest put. We will also have a 50/50 drawing and a cash prize for the top two teams. Registration will close on Friday, August 15, 2025. Please encourage friends and former teammates to get a team together and attend!
If you have any questions about the event, please contact one of our committee members below.
