MEADVILLE, Pennsylvania—Mount Union's women's volleyball team split matches on Friday night.
The Purple Raiders (5-4) swept Geneva (Pa.) (0-10) 25-8, 25-15 and 25-21.
Sadie Thomas (Cambridge Springs, Pa. / Maplewood) led the way with nine kills while
Molly McKee (North Ridgeville) finished the match with seven.
DeLani Durst (Clyde) and
Allie Gunn (Olmsted Falls / Magnificat) finished with 16 and 10 assists.
Averi Haley (Orrville) and
Sam Cantrell (Eastlake / Eastlake North) had a team-high 11 digs.
In the second match Mount Union held its own with close matches to Allegheny (5-5) 26-24, 25-18 and 25-23.
Zoe Sweigart (Canal Winchester) finished with nine kills leading Mount Union. Durst finished with 16 assists while Haley finished with 13 digs.
Mount Union returns home tomorrow for senior day and the opening match of Ohio Athletic Conference play taking on Wilmington at 1 pm.
