LEXINGTON, Ky. – Mount Union's men's soccer team defeated Hanover 2-1 in a non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers (1-1-1) would strike first when Omar Dizdar found the back of the net in the 24
th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
The Purple Raiders (3-0) scored the equalizer in the 47
th minute when sophomore
Caleb Carney (Charleston, W.Va. / George Washington) scored his first career goal off an assist from junior
Dom Kustura (Willowick / Eastlake North) to tie the game at a goal apiece. Mount Union would then score the game winning goal in the 90
th minute when senior
Nyiles Spann (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) found the back of the net off an assist from freshman
Matt Caputo (Hudson) to take a 2-1 lead and victory.
