Women's Volleyball: Raiders Split Weekend Matches

CLEVELAND, Ohio—The Mount Union women's volleyball team split a pair of games Saturday afternoon at the Case Tri Match.
 
The Purple Raiders (4-3) dropped the first match of the day 23-25, 25-16, 25-16 and 25-17 to Earlham (3-4).
 
Cami Welty (Willowick / Eastlake North) and Zoe Sweigart (Canal Winchester) each had seven kills leading Mount Union.
 
DeLani Durst (Clyde) and Anna Mihacevich (Hinkley / Padua Franciscan) finished with 14 and 13 assists while Averi Haley (Orrville) finished with 18 digs.
 
In the second match of the day Mount Union swept Olivet (0-6) 25-18, 25-13 and 25-13.
 
Sweigart led the way with 11 kills while Sadie Thomas (Cambridge Springs, Pa. / Maplewood) finished with nine.
 
Durst finished with 21 assists while Mihacevich had 13. Haley led the team with 18 digs with Thomas and Sam Cantrell (Eastlake / Eastlake North) each had 12 digs.
 
Mount Union will remain on the road next Friday heading to Meadville, Pa. facing Geneva (PA) at 6 pm and the host Allegheny at 8 pm. The Raiders will then return home on Saturday for an early senior day matchup to start Ohio Athletic Conference play taking on Wilmington at 1 pm.
