Men's Lacrosse: Raiders Drop First Game of the Season

ALLIANCE, Ohio—The Mount Union men's lacrosse team feel at home 16-5 to Transylvania on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Purple Raiders (2-1) were led by Aiden mays with two goals with a goal from Spencer Logsdon, Mason Discenza and Nicholas Howrylak.
 
Dylan Rondeau made 16 saves in goal for Mount Union while Nikolai Lopatka was 6 of 12 on the faceoff.
 
Transylvania (3-2) was led by Huck Campbell and Josh Harney with three goals and two assists each. Nick DeGrandi finished the day with 13 saves in goal.
 
Transylvania got the first goal of the game, but Mays responded with a goal just one minute later. Transylvania got the final three goals of the first quarter and kept the momentum scoring the only two goals in the second quarter.
 
Transylvania scored the first five goals of the third quarter leading 11-1 but Logsdon, Mays and Harney each scored a goal bringing life to Mount Union trailing 11-4. A goal from Transylvania was quickly responded for Mount Union by Howrylak getting his first career goal.
 
Transylvania finished off the game scoring the final four goals winning the game 16-5.
 
Mount Union remains at home taking on St. Vincent on Wednesday, March 4th at 7 PM.
