TIFFIN, Ohio—The Mount Union men's track and field team won its 14th straight and 42nd overall Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field title Saturday afternoon at Heidelberg University.
Mount Union took home the team title with 235 points 96.5 points ahead of second place Baldwin Wallace which had 138.50 points.
Ryan McVicker was the OAC champion in the shot put with a toss of 53-feet 9.75-inches and earned Co-OAC Most Outstanding Field Athlete.
Austin Hoffman was the OAC champion in the 800-Meters with a time of 1:56.21 leading another four teammates placing third to sixth.
Dylan Easterling (1:56.96),
Matthew Sopchak (1:57.19),
Thurston Shaw (1:57.93 and
Tyler Kohlmann (1:58.53) finished in those places.
Stephen Ulrich finished as the OAC champion in the 3,000-Meters with a time of 8:44.99.
Easterling teammed up with Donavan Geiger,
Yahir Hill and Josiah Adams for an OAC title in the 4x400-Meter Relay with a time of 3:21.04.
Josiah Hunter and
Ryder Greenwood earned All-OAC honors finishing second and third with times of 6.84 and 6.87 in the 60-Meter dash.
Brady Burrey also picked up sixth in the race with a 6.99.
Levi Mulle-Zurbrugg grabbed All-OAC honors with a third-place throw of 50-feet 6.25-inches.
Michael Cline grabbed All-OAC honors in the 200-Meters with a time of 22.37 with teammates Greenwood (22.42) and Hunter (22.47) grabbing fourth and fifth.
Cline, Adams, Hill and
Brayden Shinault teamed up to finish OAC runner-up in the 4x200-Meter relay with a time of 1:29.41.
Cale Borland brought home OAC runner-up honors in the mile running a 4:17.86 while Matthew Tschantz and
Marek France finished fifth and sixth with times of 4:20.04 and 4:21.09.
Jacob Peklay finished fourth in the 1,000-Meters with a 2:33.61 while Tschantz and Zach Shawala finished fifth and sixth with times of 2:34.58 and 2:34.89.
Grant Dawson and
Angelo Miller finished fourth and sixth in the high jump with leaps of 6-feet 5.5-inches and 6-feet 4.25-inches.
Dawson came back in the triple jump placing fourth with a jump of 44-feet 3.25-inches and Hunter finished seventh with a leap of 42-feet .75-inches.
Ryan Palmer and
Nick Franitti finished fourth and eighth in times of 8.48 and 8.72 in the 60-Meter hurdles.
Head coach
Kevin Lucas and his staff were named the Coaching Staff of the Year.
