ALFRED, New York—The Mount Union men's lacrosse team fell to Alfred 18-10 Saturday afternoon on the road.
The Purple Raiders (3-2) were led by
Talon Osmun (Mattawan, Mich.) and
Alec Feigel (Pittsburgh, PA / North Hills) with three goals each.
Sly Sundown (Akron, N.Y.) scored two goals while
Spencer Logsdon (Akron / Hoban) and
Josh Pasco (Wadsworth) each scored a goal.
Dylan Rondeau (Penfield, N.Y.) was in goal for Mount Union making 14 saves.
Alfred (2-3) was led by Cole Loewke with five goals and four assists and Max Sigmund making six saves.
Mount Union got on the board first with a goal from Sundown 2:32 into the game. Both teams kept exchanging goals in the first quarter as Feigel and Pasco each scored a goal for the Raiders as Mount Union and Alfred were tied at three at the end of the first quarter.
Mount Union was outscored in the second quarter 5-0, trailing 8-3 at the halftime break.
In the third quarter Logsdon got Mount Union on the board first but five straight goals for Alfred to end the quarter gave the home team a 13-4 advantage at the end of the third quarter.
Mount Union outscored Alfred 6-5 over the final quarter as Osmun scored his three goals, Feigel scored two goals and Sundown scored a goal.
Mount Union returns to play on Monday heading to Steubenville to take on Franciscan at 7 pm.
