Men’s Lacrosse: Raiders Take Down Gators in Non-Conference Play

Box Score MEADVILLE, Pennsylvania—The Mount Union men's lacrosse team took down Allegheny 13-3 Wednesday night to get back in the win column.
 
The Purple Raiders (4-3) had five players score two goals with AJ Vasilko (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Peters Township), Talon Osmun (Mattawan, Mich.), Braylon Li (Richfield / Revere), Alec Feigel (Pittsburgh, PA / North Hills) and Sly Sundown (Akron, N.Y. / Akron).
 
Spencer Logsdon (Akron / Hoban), Josh Pasco (Wadsworth) and Aiden Mays (Akron / St. Vincent St. Mary) each scored a goal.
 
Dylan Rondeau (Penfield, N.Y. / Penfield) made xx saves in goal for Mount Union while Sean Hanson had three caused turnovers.
 
Allegheny (2-4) was led by JP Rakis with two goals while Garin Stearns made 16 saves in goal.
 
The first quarter saw a defensive show as Allegheny scored the only goal in the quarter.
 
The second quarter saw Mount Union's offense come alive, scoring three goals in 2:50 as Feigel, Vasilko and Li each scored for the Raiders. Four minutes later Logsdon added another goal for Mount Union, taking a 4-1 lead. Osmun added a late goal in the second quarter with 11 seconds remaining as Mount Union took a 5-1 lead into halftime.
 
Mount Union kept the offense hot scoring three goals in the first five minutes of the half with a goal from Vasilko, Sundown and Li taking an 8-1 lead. Allegheny finally stopped the Raiders scoring run with a goal, but Osmun responded a minute later for second goal of the night. Josh Pasco added a goal to end the third quarter as Mount Union led 10-2.
 
Sundown grabbed another goal in the fourth quarter to go up 11-2 but Allegheny scored a goal just over a minute later to trail 11-3. Mays and Feigel added a goal each late to finish off the game.
 
Mount Union will return home to start Ohio Athletic Conference play on Saturday taking on Wilmington at 3 pm.
