Men’s Lacrosse: Raiders Finish Wild Weather Regular Season with Crazy OAC Victory

NEW CONCORD, Ohio—In a crazy season of weather for the Mount Union men's lacrosse team ended the regular season with another crazy finish outlasting Muskingum in a marathon game winning 9-8 earning the No. 5-seed in the OAC tournament on Saturday.
 
This season saw Mount Union start its first game in the snow, had a game cancelled due to storms, an OAC match moved back a week due to thunderstorms and finally the last game of the season saw two different lightning delays and a delay due to the stadium lights being out.
 
The Purple Raiders (8-7, 4-4 OAC) were led by Sly Sundown with three goals and two assists.
 
Talon Osmun and Alec Feigel finished the night with two goals while Spencer Logsdon and Case Cnossen each scored a goal.
 
William Entner finished the game with eight saves for the victory with Riley Douglas going 13 of 18 on the faceoff.
 
Muskingum (7-9, 4-4 OAC) was led by Adin Mondul, Ethan Kmieske and Evan Cosgrove with two goals while Jaeden Klimkowski finished with 11 saves.
 
Muskingum started the game off with two goals, but Mount Union responded with a goal from Sundown and Cnossen to tie the game at two after one quarter.
 
Muskingum got the second quarter with a goal, but Osmun tied it right back up at three. Muskingum found the back of the net once again however Mount Union got the final two goals of the quarter one from Feigel and Sundown to take a 5-4 halftime lead.
 
Logsdon got Mount Union the first goal in the third quarter to take a 6-4 lead. Muskingum responded with a goal before three straight goals from Mount Union as Sundown, Feigel and Osmun each scored a goal as Mount Union took a 9-5 lead into the fourth quarter.
 
Muskingum mounted a comeback, scoring three goals to get within one with 2:55 left in the game. Mount Union's defense buckled down and held Muskingum scoreless that final 2:55 to win the game.
 
Mount Union will now head to Westerville on Saturday for the OAC Tournament Quarterfinals with a game time to be announced.
