ALLIANCE, Ohio—The Mount Union men's track and field team got the outdoor season started hosting the Stark County Challenge Friday afternoon at Kehres Stadium.
Brady Burrey won the javelin with a toss of 192-feet 2-inches which is ranked third in Division III currently.
Mason Arth (128' 10") and Kayden Tackett (115' 2") finsihed third and fourth.
The men took the top three spots in the high jump.
Grant Dawson won the event with a jump of 6-feet 4.75-inches,
Angelo Miller grabbed second with a jump of 6-feet .75-inches and
Tre Greer finished third with a 5-feet 10.75-inch mark.
Nick Franitti won the 400-Meter hurdles with a time of 55.68 which is ranked fifth in Division III currently. Tackett (57.83),
Zach Stinson (58.30) and
Jacob Jarrett (58.76) finished third through fifth.
Colton Hanlon won the men's pole vault with a jump of 15-feet 4.5-inches. With teammate Arth finishing third with a jump of 13-feet 3-inches.
The men took the top two spots in the 4x400-Meter relay with times of 3:28.08 and 3:31.31.

Cale Borland and
Tyler Kohlmann won the event while
Matthew Sopchak,
Austin Hoffman, A'Ziah Jenkins and
Jacob Peklay took second.
Cale Borland took second in the men's 800-Meters with a 1:58.66 while
Liam Blake (1:59.20) and
Dane Riley (1:59.51) finished third and fourth.
Levi Mullen-Zurbrugg finished as the runner-up in the men's shot put with a toss of 49-feet 10.5-inches.
Jameson Marlatt finished in fifth with a toss of 44-feet 11.75-inches.
James Scanlon finished second overall in the men's long jump with a leap of 2-feet 2.5-inches.
Daniel Noronha finished second in the men's triple jump with a jump of 37-feet 10.75-inches.
Mount Union finished third through fifth in the men's 400-Meter dash with Miller (51.44),
Brayden Shinault (51.76) and
Michael Cline (51.87).
Stephen Ulrich finished third overall in the men's 1,500-Meter run with a time of 4:00.53.
Troy Combs finished fourth in the 200-Meters with a time of 22.28 and fifth in the men's 100-Meter dash with a time of 10.94.
Trent Ellyson finsihed fourth in the discus throw with a toss of 135-feet 10-inches.
Next weekend Mount Union will head to Cedarville on Saturday to compete in the Yellow Jacket Open.
