ALLIANCE, Ohio-- The Mount Union men's lacrosse team fell to Otterbein 19-11 in Ohio Athletic Conference play Saturday afternoon at home.
The Purple Raiders (5-4) were led by
Sly Sundown, who scored a team-high three goals.
Talon Osmun and
Spencer Logsdon also scored two goals for Mount Union, while
Alec Feigel,
Josh Pasco,
Dylan Lulow, and
Braylon Li each scored one goal.
Dylan Rondeau was in goal for the Purple Raiders, recording 12 saves.
Otterbein (5-5) was led by Jack Regruth, who scored a team-high four goals, while Nick King scored three goals, recording a hat trick for the Cardinals.
Otterbein scored three goals to start the game, but the Purple Raiders quickly seized momentum back to cut the lead to 3-2 with 9:38 remaining in the first quarter.
It was a back-and-forth contest, but Mount Union went on a 5-2 run to take a 7-5 lead with 13:01 remaining in the second quarter. Otterbein answered, as they went on a massive 8-0 run between the second and third quarters, leading to a 13-7 lead.
The Purple Raiders went on a 4-0 run with 4:36 remaining in the third quarter to trim the lead to 13-11.
The Cardinals would close the game on a 6-0 run, securing the 19-11 victory.
Mount Union's next game will be on the road Tuesday against Baldwin Wallace, with game time scheduled for 7:00 PM.
