ADA, Ohio / MEDFORD, Massachusetts—The Mount Union track and field team split up the team heading to two different meets this weekend ending in a school record for the women's distance medley relay and a top 25 mark from
Mackenzie Davis.
At the Tufts National Qualifying Meet the group of
Marah Bethel,
Cora Liskai,
Taylor Hennessey and
Savannah Dennison put together a time of 11:52.23 which bested the school record by six seconds. The ladies put down the 14th fastest time in Division III this year but will be two spots out of a qualifying spot to indoor nationals.
At the Polar Bear Final Qualifier (PBFQ) Davis won the women's long jump with a leap of 18-feet 7.75-inches which currently is tied for 21st in Division III and will wait till tomorrow to see if she makes the national meet.
Josiah Hunter won the men's 60-Meter dash at the PBFQ with a time of 6.86.
Colton Hanlon won the PBFQ men's pole vault with a leap of 14-feet 8.25-inches.
Ryan McVicker finished second in the men's shot put at the PBFQ with a toss of 52-feet 10-inches.
Callie Cyrus finished as the runner-up at the PBFQ women's 400-Meters with a time of 1:01.70.
Kalie Campbell finished third in the long jump with a leap of 17-feet 9.75-inches.
The Purple Raiders will find out if any athletes make the indoor national meet tomorrow afternoon.
