Men's Golf: Raiders Conclude Season at NCAA Championship

HOWIE-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – Mount Union's men's golf team finished in a tie for 34th place following the conclusion of the second round at the NCAA Championship at Mission Resort and Club on Wednesday.

The Purple Raiders finished with a team score of 620 (308-312) which was four strokes behind 33rd place Allegheny. Illinois Wesleyan leads the event with a team score of 567 (288-279).

Freshman Austin Wilhoit (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) led the way for Mount Union finishing with a two-round score of 148 (72-76). Freshman Austin Mariani (Kinsman / Badger) finished with a 153 (74-79), while junior Brian Myers (Wadsworth) and sophomore Vincent Borros (Strongsville) rounded out the Raiders team score, shooting a 158 (81-77) and 161 (81-80) respectively.

The Raiders will conclude their season after not making the cut. They finish the season with four tournament wins and seven top three finishes and won their first Ohio Athletic Conference Championship and qualified for the NCAA Championship for the first time since 2011.
