15 Years of Gold; Raiders Win 15th Straight and OAC Record 43rd Outdoor Track and Field Title

NEW CONCORD, OHIO—Mount Union's men's track and field team won it's 15th straight and 43rd overall Ohio Athletic Conference Track and Field Championship Friday afternoon while Ryder Greenwood earned the sprinter of the meet award while Stephe Ulrich earned the distance runner of the meet award.
 
The Purple Raiders had 254 points 73 ahead of Ohio Northern who finished second overall. Even though Head Coach Kevin Lucas and his staff won the meet by 73 points they were not awarded the coaching staff of the year award.
 
This also ties the OAC record for most straight OAC titles by one track team.
 
Greenwood won the 100-Meters and the 200-Meters with times of 10.46 and 21.29 which is currently 23rd and 24th in Division III.
 
Ulrich won the 5,000-Meters with 14:55.94 while Nick Wong took home fourth with a 15:01.63.
 
Dylan Easterling, Isaac Pittman, Trey Woodley and Yahir Hill won the 4x400-Meter relay with a time of 3:15.86.
 
Greenwood along with Donovan Geiger, Brayden Shinault and Josiah Hunter grabbed a title in the 4x100-Meter relay with a time of 40.99.
 
Mount Union dominated the 800-Meters with Tyler Kohlmann winning the event in a time of 1:53.35. Austin Hoffman grabbed All-OAC honors with a third place finish with a time of 1:55.00 while Dane Riley and Matthew Sopchak finished fourth and sixth with a 1:55.14 and 1:56.29.
 
Nick Franitti won the 400-Meter hurdles with a time of 53.44 which is 22nd in the country and finished second in the 110-Meter hurdles with a time of 14.52.
 
Grant Dawson grabbed All-OAC honors with a second-place finish in the triple jump and high jump with leaps of 43-feet 10.5-inches and 6-feet 6.75-inches.
 
Ryan McVicker finished with two All-OAC honors with a second place in the shot put and third in the hammer throw with distances of 52-feet 8.75-inches and 167-feet 9-inches.
 
Cale Borland earned All-OAC honors in the 1,500-Meters with a third place finish with a 3:55.99. Liam Blake and Luke Ryan finished fifth and eighth with times of 3:58.41 and 4:03.66.
 
Donovan Geiger earned All-OAC honors in the 400-Meters with a third place finish in a time of 48.55. Hill (5th), Ezekiel Dunn (7th) and Pittman (8th) scored for the Raiders with time of 48.90, 49.29 and 50.66.
 
Hunter earned All-OAC honors with a third place in the 100-Meters with a time of 10.57 while Brady Burrey finished fifth with a 10.74.
 
Mount Union also dominated the 200-Meters with the Greenwood win and then Mount Union finished fourth through seventh with Michael Cline (21.83), Brady Burrey (21.95), Woodley (22.00) and Hunter (22.14).
 
Levi Mullen-Zurbrugg finished fourth overall in the shot put with a toss of 50-feet 4-inches.
 
Daniel Noronha finished sixth overall in the triple jump with a jump of 40-feet 5.5-inches.
 
Angelo Miller grabbed sixth in the high jump with a leap of 6-feet 1.25-inches.
 
Ryan Palmer finished seventh in the 110-Meter hurdles with a time of 15.51.
 
Jacob Jarrett and Kayden Tackett finished seventh and eighth in the 400-Meter hurdles with times of 56.81 and 57.00.
 
Mount Union will now take a week off before starting last chance meets with a meet at Baldwin Wallace on Friday, May 8th for the Harrison Dillard Twilight.
