LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Mount Union head softball coach Meghan Simons and assistants Jillia Cook and Erika Warren have been named the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Regional Coaching Staff of the Year for Region VII.

Simons and her staff have led the Purple Raiders to a 35-7 overall record so far this season, where they have won their first Regional and Super Regional Championship and advanced to their first College World Series in program history. They also went 15-1 in Ohio Athletic Conference play and won their third OAC Regular Season Championship in four years, they also reached their highest ranking in program history in the NFCA Top 25 Coaches Poll when they were ranked no. 11 in the poll the week of May 5. They were also named the Donna J. Newbury OAC Coaching Staff of the Year this season.
