Kendyll Cahill (Groveport / Groveport Madison) and sophomore
Allison Jones (Berlin Center / Western Reserve) have swept the Ohio Athletic Conference Weekly Awards (5/4).
Cahill was named the Pitcher of the Week; she went 3-0 on the week to help the Purple Raiders pick up two sweeps and clinch the OAC Regular Season Championship. She also broke the school record for career wins in Saturday's 9-1 win over Muskingum, it was the 80
th win of her career, breaking a record that had stood since 2008. Cahill allowed just one run across her three appearances and struck out 10 batters.
Jones was named the Hitter of the Week after a solid week at the plate. She recorded at least one hit in all four of Mount Union's games this week, finishing the week with seven hits, six RBIs and three triples, including a walk-off RBI single in a 1-0 win over Denison on Tuesday.
This is the fourth time this season and the twelfth time in her career that Cahill has won the award and this marks the first time this season and in her career that Jones has won the award.
