WESTERVILLE, Ohio—Mount Union senior middle hitter Ava Bolen (Wellsburg, W. Va. / Brooke) was named the women's volleyball offensive player of the week for the Ohio Athletic Conference announced Monday afternoon (9/14).
 
Bolen led the Purple Raiders to a 3-0 week with sweeps over St. Vincent and Nazareth and a four-set victory over Allegheny.
 
For the week Bolen had 24 kills on 36 attempts with just two hitting errors for a hitting percent of .611. She averaged 2.67 kills per set while adding five blocks this week as well.
 
In the St. Vincent match she played two sets and was almost perfect having seven kills on eight swings while the other two matches she had eight and nine kills on 14 swings each match.
 
This is the first award in Bolen's career and the first offensive award.
