Men's Soccer: Raiders Fall on the Road Against Christopher Newport

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Mount Union's men's soccer team lost a non-conference matchup against Christopher Newport 3-0 on Friday evening.

After a scoreless first half the Captains (4-0) broke the tie in the 59th minute when Carson Friedlein was able to find the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead. Christopher Newport would add to their lead in the 72nd minute this time scoring off the foot of Drew McWhinney to stretch the lead to two goals. The Captains would add a third and final goal in the 82nd minute when Riley Usher scored to extend the lead to three goals.

The Purple Raiders (2-3-1) wouldn't be able to answer over the remainder of the game as Christopher Newport would go on to win 3-0.

The Raiders are on the road again next as they wrap up their weekend in Virginia against Batten on Sunday, September 20 at 1:30 p.m. in Virginia Beach, Va.
