GROVE CITY, Pennsylvania—Mount Union's women's volleyball team picked up two victories Friday evening at the Grove City Coaches vs. Cancer Invitational.
Mount Union stayed hot with its fifth and sixth straight wins while hitting over .250 in both matches.
The Purple Raiders (8-2) won a five-set thriller against Penn St. Behrend (8-3) 25-13, 25-27, 25-21, 18-25 and 15-13.
Zoe Sweigart (Canal Winchester) led Mount Union with 22 kills while
Cami Welty (Willowick / Eastlake North) finished with nine kills and four blocks.
DeLani Durst (Clyde) finished with 32 assists with
Anna Mihacevich (Hinkley / Padua Franciscan) finishing with 20 assists and four service aces.
Averi Haley (Orrville) led the way in digs with 31 over the five sets while Durst picked up 12 and
Lanie Schultz (South Park, Pa.) finished with 10.
In the second match of the day Mount Union swept Washington and Jefferson (3-9) 25-20, 25-22 and 25-16.
Sadie Thomas (Cambridge Springs, Pa. / Maplewood) led the way with 10 kills while Welty and
Ava Bolen (Wellsburg, W. Va. / Brooke) finished with nine kills each.
Durst had 21 assists and three service aces while Mihacevich finished with 16 assists.
Haley picked up 19 digs while
Remington Dieter (Sullivan / Black River) finished with 12 digs.
Mount Union will return to Grove City tomorrow facing Waynesburg and Denison at 12 and 4 pm.
