Women's Soccer: Hutton Scores a Pair to Lift Raiders Past Wooster

WOOSTER, Ohio – Mount Union's women's soccer team beat Wooster 2-1 in a non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.

The Purple Raiders (2-3) would strike first when junior Rylee Hutton (Salem) found the back of the net in the 15th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Mount Union would then add to their lead in the 51st minute when Hutton scored her second goal of the game, this time off an assist from senior Ella Dinwiddie (Medina / Wadsworth) to stretch the lead to two goals.

The Fighting Scots (3-3-1) would answer with a goal of their own in the 54th minute when Annie Henegar found the back of the net to trim the lead to a goal. But that is as close as they would be able to get as the Raiders would go on to win 2-1.

The Raiders return home next when they host Albion on Wednesday, September 23 at 4 p.m. in Alliance as the first part of a men's and women's soccer doubleheader.
