ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's men's soccer team played Hiram to a 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon in their home opener.
The Purple Raiders (1-0-1) would strike first when senior
Alex Depperschmidt (Mansfield / Lexington) found the back of the net off an assist from fellow senior
Dom Kustura (Willowick / Eastlake North) to take a 1-0 lead in the 16
th minute.
The Terriers (0-0-2) would answer with a goal of their own when Carmine Boscarello was able to score off a header to tie the game at a goal apiece in the 33
rd minute.
Neither team would be able to net a goal over the remainder of the game as they would go on to play to a 1-1 draw.
The Raiders are back in action again tomorrow when they host Wisconsin-Platteville at 3 p.m. at Kehres Stadium in Alliance.
